Supercross Suspension
ENZO RACING suspension services include rebuild/overhauls, repairs, revalving, system upgrades, respringing and conversions. We work on KYB, SHOWA and WP components and whenever possible we use genuine parts on each make. We have over 25 years of experience working with motocross suspension and have insight to the modern direction of development.

Customize / Revalve
Suspension plays a big role in the overall feel of your bike, the way it handles, and your confidence on the track. Having your bike set up perfectly for your weight, ability, and preferences improves your riding performance and race finishes.
Rebuild
Your suspension is a very important factor in your ride - it needs to be serviced and inspected to ensure it is performing properly. Worn parts should be replaced at 40 hour intervals and contaminated fluids replaced every 20 hours.
Damping Systems
SECONDARY DAMPING SYSTEMS:
Modern closed cartridge damping systems such as KYB AOS/SSS and SHOWA Twin Chamber function with 2 basic damping systems. The “closed cartridge” is a cylinder, piston rod and base valve with air and oil separated to provide consistent damping force. The total “responsibility” of the closed cartridge we call PRIMARY damping. The PRIMARY damping controls most of the speeds that the fork works, but for the highest speeds the fork is compressed, additional damping is needed to prevent hard bottoming or even long or full stroke usage. This is where SECONDARY damping is utilized. It works independently of the PRIMARY damping, it is outside of the closed cartridge system. The SECONDARY damping systems are either a high speed restrictive “spring perch” or a “spring tube”which restricts oil as it is forced up between the cartridge body and a tube. Both systems provide different secondary damping “responsibilities”.
TECHNICA SPRING TUBES:
The spring tube secondary damping system is suitable for motocross usage as opposed to Supercross or high speed compression requirements. Technically, the damping force provided by a spring tube is LINEAR rather than PROGRESSIVE, so the higher speed damping that it provides tends to be less spiky or choppy as secondary damping kicks in. ENZO recommends the spring tubes for general motocross usage.
OVERHAUL / REBUILD
Your components are disassembled, cleaned and inspected for damage. At this point if any excessive damage is detected, we will contact the customer, inform them of the damage and determine what action to take. If it is in normal condition, the component is reassembled with normal wear parts and proper original manufacturer specifications. The standard damping valving specs are retained, but any deformed or excessively worn valving shims are replaced.

REAR SHOCK REVALVE
All the overhaul/rebuilding services are the starting point of the revalving service. The end of the shock shaft is machined to allow clean removal of the nut and replaced with a stainless steel nut (stronger than stock). The COMPRESSION and REBOUND valving is modified to specifications determined after an interview with a technician. The valving on the compression adjuster may also need to be modified on some models. Again the damping specifications often must work in conjunction with spring changes determined during the interview. NOTE TO CUSTOMERS: The goal of suspension service, namely revalving and re springing is CUSTOMER SATISFACTION! It is the responsibility of the technician to satisfy the customer with his interpretation of information given. ENZO RACING stands behind all work done, and will make sure the customer is satisfied as long as he expresses changes needed in a timely fashion.

FRONT FORK REVALVE
All the overhaul/rebuilding services are the starting point of the revalving service. The rod ends of the rebound shaft and base valve are ground for removal and replaced with new nuts and if needed, new rod ends. The MID SPEED VALVING and BASE VALVING is modified to specifications determined after an interview with a technician. Damping specs often must work in conjunction with spring and oil level changes, and this is also determined during the interview.

ENZO TECHNICA FRONT FORK WP/KYB CONVERSION:
Converts various current model WP front inner and outer tubes to accept KYB AOS internal damping system. KYB AOS cartridge, rebound rod, compression base valve with standard caps, bottoming cones, springs and standard spring perches fit into the standard WP inner and outer tubes with the installation of the special machined conversion axle lugs. The damping and spring rate are set up for the individual customer’s requirements.

INTEGRAL SHOCK ADJUSTER
Available for KYB shocks only.

KASHIMA COATING AND DIAMOND LIKE COATING
Enzo Racing Front Fork Surface Treatments We offer performance upgrading coatings to the inner and outer tubes to reduce frictions. Using specific surface treatments for steel and aluminum, the side load frictions is reduced dramatically. Both of these surface treatments are used by Factory YAMAHA and KAWASAKI teams. For the outer aluminum tubes we offer KASHIMA coating which is a proprietary treatment offered only in Japan. KASHIMA coating is a very hard and low friction treatment applied to aluminum and is used by many factory teams. Enzo Racing offers high level KASHIMA coating treatment to stock front fork outer tubes. For the steel inner tubes, we use DLC (Diamond like Carbon) treatment. This is easily identified by its black color. This treatment comes production on the ’07/’08 KXF450. DLC coated inner tubes greatly reduce the friction, which provides smoother action over sharp impacts and overall performance. The DLC coating is also harder and smoother than the standard chrome, and resists nicks from stones that can create sharp dings in the surface which in turn damages the oil seals that can turn into leaks. Included in the cost we also offer hard anodizing to the axle brackets. ****This treatment is offered for both Showa and KYB Components**** DLC stands for”Diamond Like Coating” and it ls a treatment for steel material that provides a hard, slippery surface. It is ideal for front fork inner tubes because the harder surface helps prevent damage from rocks and debris damaging the sealing surface which causes oil seal failure. It also provides a lower friction performance when the fork telescopically moves up and down within the outer tubes. DLC can only be applied to steel surfaces, so it must be performed with the aluminum axle lug removed. We generally treat new inner tubes without the axle lugs attached, but if new condition tubes are brought in by customers, we must remove the stock axle lug before treatment. We hard anodize the axle lugs black before assembling onto the treated tubes.
